Bah...Humbug...

I saw Disney's A Christmas Carol last night. I have to admit I wasn't expecting too much... I own, I think, every version ever made of that great Dickens' tale... and while I had no problem with either George C. Scott or Patrick Stewart as Scrooge... the idea of Jim Carrey... and an animated Jim Carrey at that... left me slightly flummoxed... The movie turned out to be amazing though... make it a "must see" this Holiday season... you won't be disappointed.

I bought these at an estate sale this morning... I have no idea what they are... the sellers had no idea what they were... they thought perhaps cocktail plates... possibly coasters... I think they're too fragile to be either... so they remain a mystery... but it was the second day of the sale and they were twenty-five percent off... only buy mysterious items if they're on sale...

A Bird In The Hand...

I'll admit to having more than a bird or two tucked into the odd nook and cranny inside my house...and I'm okay with that...
it brings a bit of the outdoors in...
in an abstract sort of calming way...
unlike having a live bird swoop my cart yesterday in the grocery...
it was unnerving...
and I'm fairly sure the rotisserie chicken
I had tucked in my basket felt much the same...
