Trick or Treat...then...

Waiting impatiently for darkness... running across lawns... through (almost always wet) leaves...

holding bags or pillowcases filled with candy... big candy bars... homemade popcorn balls...

even pennies and nickels... they were worth their weight at the little neighborhood corner store... icy cold bottles of soda from the pop machine... canisters of pretzel rods... oodles of penny candy... how to choose?

Play with your food...

As I recall, back in the golden, slightly olden, days of my youth, Halloween cuisine consisted of not much more than apple cider and a plain cake doughnut...

They did the Monster Mash...

My little brother's love for Halloween is steadfast, (fanatical) and longstanding... think Linus in the Great Pumpkin patch...
so, in his honor, I've decided to wind down October with a post or two celebrating the creeping, crawling, costumed, decorated and orangey bits of life...
all you have to do is find a comfy seat on the broom... hold tight... and come along for the ride...

T-Minus 30 and Counting...

When I got home last night, this was waiting for me in the mailbox... the scrumptiousness that is Emma Bridgewater...

Then I found this in my office email bright and early this morning… from my shopping bestie… it made me laugh because we look exactly like that on our jaunts to A2… only blonder and times two of course!

Shopping season has begun in earnest sweet peeps… get out there armed with your gift lists and shopping bags and have at it… just don’t get in my way… I’ll be the one facing northward… happily munching on a cinnamon bun…

Driving Miss Daisy...

Currently, I drive a Lemon. It stalls sporadically while accelerating and/or “sticks” at high speed… yet there is nothing wrong… according to the techs at the Lemon dealership and their hallowed computer. Needless to say, until the situation is resolved… I avoid highways like the plague.

So when the urge hits for a day trip… I’ve come to rely on the kindness of an amazing friend and simpatico shopping cohort… She happily drives, while I grudgingly navigate. To label me as directionally challenged would be kind. In my world, whichever way I am currently facing is North. Enough said…

This past weekend marked a wee zip up North... as I happened to be facing that way anyway...
